Team CENTURY 21 Adams & Barnes Enjoys it's Annual Company Luau and Award Ceremony

This Sunday (June 10, 2012) our team of REALTORS at CENTURY 21 Adams & Barnes came together with family and friends to take part in the our annual company luau and award ceremony.

Enjoying a gorgeous Monrovian summer afternoon our crew played the afternoon away with a hearty game of limbo, a messy pie eating contest, a very wet water balloon toss and the usual mayhem that occurs when buckets of water meet little kids.

The food was also delicious and we don't believe anyone went home with an empty belly.

We are proud as a company to have a team of professionals who enjoy each other's company as much as we do.

Team Adams & Barnes Celebrates Cinco De Mayo

Our team is thrilled to have been part (for the second year) of the Monrovia Cinco De Mayo Multicultural Arts & Music Festival. The day's weather was perfect for the event and it was a treat to see the community come out to our Downtown and celebrate the art, food, music, dance and traditions of Latinos in the San Gabriel Valley.

Also, the afternoon gave us the opportunity to meet hundreds of folks and help them enter a raffle to win a new Kenmore Liquid Propane Gas Grill which we'll give to one lucky winner later this week.

Our team, who consisted of Maria Abellanosa, Joanne Cothern, Jacen Crehan, Maricela Dolores, Charmaine Foster, Deanna Jones, Karen Taylor, Isabel Lugo, Jose Martinez, Henry Suarez, Marisela Torres, Patti Tris, Sherry Tweini & Troy Willson.

We are also proud to share some photos of our team at the event and we look forward to being part of this growing festival next year.

Congratulations - Karen, Joe, Linda Jo & Jacen!

Capping off a year of challenges, hard-work and lots-of- coffee the team at CENTURY 21 Adams & Barnes finished 2009 in a positive note and with a healthy outlook for 2010. Many of our newer associates have begun to reap the rewards of the hours they have invested in their clients and that momentum is starting to pay-off in this new year. Because of this, the forecast for achievement in the next months is sunny and bright.

Now, as CENTURY 21's award season begins, four company stand-outs are receiving special recognition from the brand's top-brass. In 09, our own Karen Taylor-Straley, Joe Garcia, Linda Jo Pyle and Jacen Crehan distinguished themselves individually as they posted outstanding sales stats and off-the-charts customer satisfaction marks.

In addition to brand trophies and company commendations, which will be presented at our yearly award banquet, "the four" have been invited to an exclusive Top Agent retreat later this year at Atlantis: Paradise Island resort in the picturesque Bahamian islands.

They will join hundreds of other nationally recognized CENTURY 21 real estate pros who have amassed their own respective achievements. The three day event is chock-full off educational and networking opportunities for attendees. There they will have the opportunity to brain-storm and showcase that many ways in which they are making strides through this challenging market.

On behalf of the entire management team at CENTURY 21 Adams & Barnes we'd like to
congratulate, Karen, Joe, Linda Jo and Jacen for all they have and continue to accomplish. We look forward to all the wonderful snap-shots they are sure to share when they return.

Make us proud and come back with a healthy Bahamian tan.

To Buy or Not To Buy!

What a market we’re in! Money’s cheap and houses are a plenty. If it was 2005, we would be jumping for joy! So…what is different now than 2005?

For starters, people are afraid of buying a house thinking that it will drop in value some 30-40% in the next 6 months. Just like the stock market at times, the real estate market can be significantly driven by emotion and media hype. Remember when tech stocks where being traded by anybody who could get their hands on them? Well, for the last 9 months, we’ve seen horror stories about people losing their homes to foreclosure and adjustable rate mortgages going through the roof. The media has turned this into what would seem to be the end of the world. Others comment on how it is merely a common denominator of people that shouldn’t have gotten into these houses in the first place. The issue was that people were being told that they COULD afford these houses and that they DID deserve to live the “dream”. It was kind of the same logic as credit card debt, enjoy what you want NOW, and pay later. Later, unfortunately came sooner than expected.

The truth of the matter is that if you are ready (financially and mentally) to buy a home, now is a great time! If you look at it over the long term, no matter when you buy a home, you are always prone to some kind of market changes.

So what do you do if you want to live the dream and settle down in a home for your family?

Look at the long term. What are your needs for a home immediately and in the next 10 years?

Get prepared financially. If you have money for a down payment, speak to a mortgage specialist.
Save money for a down payment so that you can “jump” on that great deal when it comes around.

Check to see if you qualify for any special first time buyer programs. Your agent can also help with this process.

Consult a professional real estate agent, preferably a REALTOR® to be on the look out for the right property for you and your family.

Be prepared with ideas on location, size and most importantly price that you can afford.
